Introduction The Marine Corps PEBD Calculator and its companion Basic Pay Comparison page (together, the "Tool") are client-side, browser-based calculation utilities designed to assist with understanding creditable service calculations under PAA 04-25 and the estimated basic pay impact of a PEBD correction. Your military service dates, PEBD values, and period details are processed locally and never leave your device unless you manually export or print them. --- ## 3. Data Processing ### Calculation Data When you enter service period information and click "Calculate PEBD," the following occurs: 1. Your input is stored temporarily in your browser's RAM (memory) 2. JavaScript performs date calculations using standard JavaScript date functions 3. Results are displayed on screen 4. Data is cleared from memory when you: - Refresh the page - Close the browser tab - Clear browser cache - Click the "Reset All" button ### Pay Comparison Data The Basic Pay Comparison page works the same way: PEBD dates, career timeline entries, and the optional EDIPI are processed entirely in your browser's memory against a pay table embedded in the page itself. Nothing is looked up remotely and nothing is transmitted. The EDIPI is used only in the names of files you export and inside the DTMS transaction file, all of which save directly to your own device. ### Page-to-Page Handoff The "Open in Pay Comparison" link on the calculator's results passes only the two PEBD dates to the comparison page as URL parameters (for example, `pay-comparison.html?pebdA=20180406&pebdB=20170603`). No names or other personal data are ever placed in a URL. The parameters are read locally by your browser and are not sent to any server. ### Print/Export If you print or export your calculation report, or export a CSV or DTMS transaction file from the Basic Pay Comparison page: - PDF/print/CSV/XLS files are created locally on your device - No data is transmitted to cloud services - Your browser's print dialog or download manager handles the output - You are responsible for securing exported files that contain service information --- ## 4.
